Mike Bianchi is a sports panelist on TAILGATE OVERTIME for Sun Sports and FSN Florida.
Bianchi has also been involved in SPORTS TALK LIVE and various SEMINOLE & GATOR PREGAMES during his 10 years
with the Sun Sports and FSN Florida team.
Bianchi earned his bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Florida in 1985.
During Bianchi's early career he worked as a sports columnist at FLORIDA TODAY, GAINSVILLE SUN and
FLORIDA-TIMES UNION. In 2001 he took a position as a sports columnist with the Orlando Sentinel and
has now been working for the newspaper for seven years. Bianchi was recently voted the best sports
columnist in Florida by the Florida Sportswriters Association for his excellent work with the Orlando Sentinel.
The 47-year-old native of Interlachen, Florida upholds a very forthright and bold philosophy on sports analysis.
He follows the advice from the University of Florida alumni and 1966 Heisman Trophy Winner, Steve Spurrier,
who said, "Bianchi, you don't have to be right, you just have to be loud." Bianchi's favorite quote about
his profession is, "The job of the sports columnist is to watch the battle from the mountaintop and then
ride down and bayonet the wounded… If I write something that's wrong, just remember this quote:
"Doctors bury their mistakes, sports columnists print ours." Over the years Bianchi has become admired
and respected by readers, athletes, and sports fans for this honest, outspoken, and unique perspective on sports.
